Introduction

The department of Planning and Development was established at the Hashemite in 1996 to organize and strengthen all the information and statistics relating to the university. The goal of the department is to build a comprehensive data base that can conduct the required studies and provide the information necessary to accomplish the missions of the faculties and administrative units as well as those of the facilities and allied services supporting the academic process. Furthermore, the department aims at achieving a comprehensive application of standards of qualitative and quantitative dimension is such a way that studies include all the details of the elements of the educational process.

Vision

The department is to be the major authority that can provide the studies and the required information relating to planning and developing the various academic and administrative activities in the university. The department also makes up plans and programs to evaluate and monitor the observance of standards of quality and excellence in performance, learning outputs, and services inside the university and its faculties.

Mission

The department intends to promote the performance of the university and its faculties and to reinforce their competitive potential at the national, regional, and international levels. The department also intends to ensure the implementation of the standards and systems of quality and accreditation, and to make sure that the university goals are achieved in a way that goes with its policies and strategies, and that the university and its faculties use and reinforce the infrastructure needed for that.

Strategy

The strategy of the department depends on preparing reports, data, and studies, as well as providing the various academic and administrative departments and authorities both at the university and outside with a comprehensive data base. In fact, the reports and data prepared by the department are the outcome of the work of those academic and administrative departments and authorities. 

Goals

1. The department aims at providing a comprehensive data base for the various elements of the academic and administrative process both electronically and on paper. The department also aims at helping those involved in planning and development by providing specialized studies and reports.

2. The department aims at computerizing its entire work by establishing and sustaining an efficient electronic website.

3. The department aims at helping the academic and administrative departments in implementing the standards of comprehensive quality by providing the necessary data, studies, and information.
