Robert Bosch Academy names Prof. Rana Dajani as a Richard Von Weizsacker Fellow.
The Robert Bosch Academy was founded in 2014 as an institution of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. Located at the foundation’s Berlin Office, the Academy offers decision-makers, opinion leaders, and experts space for confidential exchanges and soluteon-oriented cooperation on global affairs.
Rana Dajani, a molecular biologist, social entrepreneur and global thought leader. She is the founder of We Love Reading, a grassroots initiative to create change makers in underserved communities by fostering a lifelong love for reading. Rana has also been recognized as a Fulbright fellow, Eisenhower fellow and Ashoka fellow, and by joining the list of the 100 most influential Arab Women and receiving the Jacobs social entrepreneur award, Nansen UNHCR refugee award, and the Schwab Social Entrepreneur Award. Dajani is a Professor of molecular biology at the Hashemite University in Jordan. Visiting professor at MIT, Harvard, Yale, and Cambridge and a Morse Yale Fellow. Her area of expertise is epigenetics and biomarkers of trauma among refugees and genetics of ethnic populations. Presided over numerous scientific boards and United Nations councils.
Her 2018 book "Five Scarves Doing the Impossible If We Can Reverse Cell Fate Why Can't We Redefine Success" challenged global policy makers to address ongoing inequities in education and employment while also putting forward a new paradigm for measuring success in an evolving world.
In addition, Prof. Rana part of Catalyst 2030 as a Board Member, Catalyst 2030, is a collaborative movement of leading social entrepreneurs (SE) along with funders and intermediaries from across the globe.
It is worth noting that Prof. Rana participated last year in the Richard von Weizsäcker Forum, which examined the issues of climate change and protection from various perspectives.
