Within a prestigious and distinguished international achievement, the Department of Chemistry in the College of Science at the Hashemite University obtained Canadian international accreditation from the Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC), which is considered one of the most prominent international accreditations in this field. The CSC Council granted the Chemistry Program in the College of Science full accreditation for eight years from 2023-2031, which is the maximum period of accreditation according to the accreditation results report that was officially received on Friday 02/09/2024. CSC accreditation has many advantages, including providing international recognition for the high quality of chemistry and closely related programs, which is carried out by reviewing logistical equipment, laboratories, teaching plans, content of teaching materials, teaching methods, student work, and examinations to prove that the actual outcomes of Education provide graduates with the knowledge and skills required for the labor market. The Acting President of the University, Professor Dr. Awni Tradat, stated that this achievement came with the adoption and diligent follow-up over the course of the previous year by the President of the Hashemite University, Professor Dr. Fawwaz Al-Abdul Haq Al-Zboun, and the university’s councils. The Acting President of the University emphasized the vital role of the administration and members of the teaching and administrative bodies and the students of the Chemistry Department and the College of Science, in addition to the supporting role of the relevant deanships, colleges, units and departments of the university. Prof. Tradat affirmed his pride and admiration for the great efforts accomplished by the Chemistry Department to achieve all the requirements for CSC accreditation, including preparing all files and reports in a way that complies with international accreditation standards as to be consistent with the learning outcomes required for this purpose at the level of the program, subjects, study plan, and practical laboratories. On this occasion, Dr. Tradat extended his thanks and appreciation to all those responsible for this effort to obtain Canadian international accreditation, calling for the continuation of this distinguished scientific approach to deliver the Hashemite University’s message to the world. The Vice President , Professor Dr. Khaled Abu Al-Tin said: “The university has a good reputation and seeks to develop education and apply quality standards that contribute to the development of the educational process in general. He added that the university adopts curricula and systems in the teaching process that encourage students to be creative and distinguished thinkers and researchers, with the aim of Self-development, in order to graduate world-class students, enhanced with the skills required by the labor market in accordance with the global developments in the field of chemistry. The Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Widyan, praised the efforts of the Chemistry Department in obtaining the Canadian international accreditation, which is considered one of the most prominent international accreditations in this field. He also thanked the Head of the Chemistry Department for his appreciated efforts in this field.
