This department has been established on the 1st of august 1997 headed by Eng. Asad Meaberah. Consequent to the establishment of the Hashemite University , it has been actively involved in the designing and executing the infrastructure and buildings of the Hashemite University .

The Engineering And Maintenance Department consists of the following sections :

- Management
- Civil Engineering Section
- Mechanical Engineering Section
- Electrical Engineering Section

Principal duties and obligations :

- Assist and supervise the designing contractor in planing and designing Buildings, infrastructure, and services of the Hashemite University .

- Manage the supervising contractor during the execution of different projects in Hashemite University .

Maintain Civil work such as :

- Painting
- Carpentry
- Steel welding
- Infrastructure

Maintain mechanical work such as

- Central heating system
- Central Air Conditioning system
- Portable water system network
- Irrigation network
- Fire fighting network

Maintain Electrical work such as

- Main electrical network
- Elevators
- Backup Generators
- Lightning
